We visited the Greek island of Crete in April 2012, after having spent 3 weeks in Cyprus (see my Cyprus gallery). We travelled around the island for 3 weeks, focussing mainly on the regions around Heraklion, Chania, Agia Galini and Agios NiKolaos. I had been in Greece before, but it is a long time ago, and I was only on the mainland. I loved Crete, and was especially attracted by the architecture and atmosphere of the big towns. They really were vibrant, probably because in the climate of economic crisis, most of the people are in the streets and not at work. When we were back home,my Father asked me if we had noticed signs of the crisis there. I laughed and said: “on the contrary, they all seem so happy and enjoying life!”
These paintings of Crete are available directly online as Giclee print in many different dimensions, on paper, canvas or metal, and also as greeting cards.
